trevor moran embraces differences in his “i wanna fly” visual
Birthday Boy Trevor Moran dares to be different and makes an announcement in his futuristic “I Wanna Fly” music video…
Just in time for his birthday YouTuber turned musician Trevor Moran has unveiled the music video for his new single “I Wanna Fly.” The 17 year old Moran released the single earlier this summer, and it shows real growth in his musical career. A bright electronic production sets the stage for Moran’s uplifting track, and the accompanying music video tells a story of love and sacrifice in a broken world… Sounds like a winner right?
Going the route that fellow YouTuber Joey Graceffa explored with the release of his fantastical “Don’t Wait” music video, Trevor Moran embedded a personal message into “I Wanna Fly.” Although in previous interviews Moran has implied that the song was inspired by his mother, it seems as though the XIAT musician is utilizing the track as an opportunity to come out to his fan base.
In the opening moments of the “I Wanna Fly” video Trevor Moran is seen living in an abandoned warehouse, watching a blurry television screen proclaim that “Being Different Is Dangerous.” As the teen falls asleep in his apartment he is raided by a brutal police force who take him captive for failing to fit in. Taken to a futuristic prison Trevor Moran is crestfallen to realize that his assumed lover, played by Jacob Reinhard, is also held captive. After the duo are torn apart from a passionate embrace the power of Moran’s love breaks down the barriers established by the prison. As the hoard of prisoners escape Trevor is held back and shares one last loving glance with Reinhard. The visual is a story of sacrifice that allows Trevor Moran to fly on the sheer power of his love, and the concept imparts even more power into the track’s message.
