When I started Days with Destiny I wanted an opportunity to share my thoughts and interests with readers.  I love to laugh, and I love to share laughter.  What better way to do so than by sharing comical things with the world at large?  Meaning, why not fill Days with Destiny with the hysterical YouTube Videos that I watch in my free time?  I also love to look at, listen to, and talk about pretty things (be that Nicki’s new album, Connor Franta’s beautiful videos, Britney’s newest and most glamorous photoshoot, or even a snapshot of some Christmas ornaments that I saw).  Beautiful things are meant to be shared, especially in our modern world when it is so easy for beautiful moments to be overshadowed by darkness or lack of attention on our part.  As a creative individual, I am incessantly reminding myself to slow down and appreciate my surroundings; and if I am making the effort then why not take one more step to share my realizations with others?   More important than anything else though, I wanted to utilize Days with Destiny to connect with people who are experiencing similar things in their lives.  As a self identifying pop culture fiend, I CONSTANTLY find myself watching videos or reading posts and emphasizing with the creator.  I understand their struggles, and I connect on that level.  As a blogger, I wanted to be able to create that type of connection with my readers.  Sure, I want to talk about Rihanna’s classic take on one of the most ratchet songs in her discography as much as the next pop culture blogger (which is A LOT in case you didn’t know), but I also wanted to share stories about my life and my experiences.  That is why I have decided to share this post with you all, and let you know that three weeks ago I made the very difficult decision to quit my first job in the professional world, take the holidays with my family and loved ones, and reevaluate my opportunities in the new year.  Continue reading

chill out with a new adventure blog on days with destiny!

chill out with a new adventure blog on days with destiny!

Hey Guys!  Today is Sunday, and that means that it is time for a Sunday Funday Adventure Blog!  It feels like it has been FOREVER since I have sat down to write about myself here on Days with Destiny, even though it has only been a few weeks since my last Adventure Blog.  This time of the year in between Thanksgiving and Christmas always seems to fly by, and so much has happened since I last check in!  Two weeks ago I hosted Britney Week on Days with Destiny in honor of my queen’s 33rd Birthday, and this week has been equally busy with the start of the 25 Days of Blogmas and other regular posts!  I think that it is safe to say that YouTube RULED Day Destiny this week; YouTube Rewind dropped an amazing recollection of 2014 and iiSuperwomanii released a video that reimagined YouTube as a Bollywood movie and Connor Franta stole the limelight from the Queen of Inspirational Musings to share some wisdom of his own.  Britney also made an appearance to promote her fragrances (#SmellLikeGodney), and we all (hopefully) got philanthropic with #Cans4Cans for the Los Angeles Food Bank.  Jessie J dropped a new music video, and Us The Duo released a pretty dope remix of a few of this year’s top tracks.  This week Perez Hilton favorited a tweet on my Twitter (even though I am still not entirely sure I get Twitter), and I had a pretty epic fan girl moment.  Getting noticed by THE biggest pop culture blogger of all time was more than a little exciting for me after the last few months working on Days with Destiny.  All in all, there has been A LOT going on in my life.  Some of the information you’ll learn about today, and some you’ll learn about a little later in the week, but read on under the jump to learn a bit about what I have been up to the last few days!Continue reading

Hey Guys and Happy Sunday Funday, Thanksgiving Style!  This week has been super BUSY, as I flew home to celebrate the holidays with my family in Northfield before flying back to Oak Park for my first experience working Black Friday in a retail environment.  Things were pretty busy here on Days with Destiny, too!  Monday’s Playlist featured a nice collection of chill music from favorite artists that I am eternally thankful for (check it HERE), Tuesday’s Design Tip offered up a few ideas regarding how to redesign your living room on a budget and can be found HERE, and on Wednesday I posted 50 Things That I am Thankful For over the course of the day!  Check those posts out HERE (Part 1) and HERE (Part 2) and let me know what you are thankful for yourselves in the comments!  After Wednesday, I took a few days off blogging to spend some time with family and then to get back for work, but I have some EXCITING plans for this upcoming week.  If you want a hint, just know that this week’s posts will be revolving around a certain Birthday Girl.  Read on for more information about next week’s posts as well as for a quick recap of my travels this week under the jump!Continue reading
