All the Pretty Girls (and boys) showed up for the 2015 Billboard Music Awards, but what happened at the show?  Find out here…

Tonight is the night of the 2015 Billboard Music Awards, an event honoring the best and brightest in music across a variety of genres.  The event took place at MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, the home of original Pretty Girl Britney Spears.  Rapper Ludacris and the eternally gorgeous Chrissy Teigen (who may not be a musician, but she “bangs one”) hosted the event, leading us through a night of wild performances and well deserved awards!

Going into the event, Country turned Pop Princess and Bad Ass Femme Fatale Taylor Swift led the nominations with 14 nods.  The 1989 siren’s biggest categories included Top Artist and Billboard Chart Achievement (a fan voted award that had her facing off against Meghan Trainor and “Pretty Girls” Iggy Alien Azalea).  Swiftie also kicked the show off with her star-studded “Bad Blood” music video premier.  Obviosuly, she was one of the queens of the 2015 Billboard Music Awards!  Other favorites going into the event included the usual suspects:  Ed Sheeran, Iggy Azalea, Meghan Trainor, Sam Smith, and other hit makers from 2014…

The 2015 Billboard Music Awards also signifies the first live televised performance from Britney Spears in four years, as B-Girl took things to her home stage in Planet Hollywood for a little I-G-G-Y and Britney, Bitch time!  One Direction made their first Zayn Malik-less appea  Other performers included Nicki Minaj (Slay Mama), Kanye, Kelly, Ed Sheeran, Tori Kelly, Van Halen, and so many others!

Wiz Khalifa and Iggy Azalea threw down on their new collaboration “Go Hard or Go Home,” which is set to be featured on the soundtrack to the latest installment of the Fast & Furious film series, Furious 7.  The track reminds us that when she isn’t picking fights with Papa John’s Iggy can serve up a piece of musical greatness.

Go Hard or Go Home is a roaring release from the very beginning.  The song features a dramatic production with an energizing electronic sound strengthened by a string section on the hook.  Both Wiz and Iggy serve hot verses, giving all they have to the music and addressing the importance of staying true to yourself and your roots.  Wiz absolutely flies through his spitfire verse as he vows to stand side by side with his friends and family.  Iggy references the pressure of performing to a certain standard as she raps “Pressure make a diamond but that pressure make me a star.”  Neither of them seem to be afraid of making moves.  Possibly the most memorable feature of the song is its hook, on which Wiz vows that he does it all for his family.

I feel like the sky is falling down / ain’t nobody here to play around / push it to the edge I won’t back down / cause its time to go hard or go home / one way up no way out / I give it all for the family

Put the pedal to the medal (racing pun intended) and listen to Wiz and Iggy talk about riding dirty and doing it for the family on Go Hard or Go Home under the cut.Continue reading
